Our Story
Our collective was officially founded in 2020 as a response to the isolation felt by artists on the Mornington Peninsula due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The collective has since evolved to become a strong network of organisations collaborating, supporting and promoting each others’ work on the Mornington Peninsula.
Our Purpose
Peninsula Culture Collective is a network of the Mornington Peninsula's key creative and cultural organisations, unified to develop new support mechanisms, entice new collaborations, share resources and grow capacity of the Mornington Peninsula creative, arts and cultural sector.
We are a non-profit incorporated association and are governed by a board consisting of representatives from our founding organisation members: Dreamhouse Theatre Company, Peninsula Writers’ Club, Peninsula Studio Trail, Spark Productions, Mornington Peninsula Music Network and Living Culture.
As a collective, we will be running collaborative arts events throughout the year across the Peninsula, promoting our organisations’ individual events and offering support to our members through shared resources and other forms of artistic and administrative support.
Our Goals
We have several unique goals that are uniting our member organisations across the Peninsula. Through our network we hope to strengthen resources and connections for all artists in our region and offer a place for likeminded artists and organisations to connect and support each other.
Our primary goals are to:
Promote and provide opportunities for all member organisations to grow, generate more income, and find new audiences
Provide more opportunities to member organisations, artists and creatives in the Mornington Peninsula
Provide the wider community more opportunities to experience and participate in creative and cultural activities
Provide spaces for the local creative and cultural sector and opportunities to be involved and work alongside key organisations in the region.
