How To Get Involved

Guided Walks and Meditations

Living Culture offers a variety of guided walks and Meditation healing sessions for all ages and abilities, all of which take place in a variety of stunning coastal and bush settings of the Mornington Peninsula. Rich with indigenous significance and abundant with native fauna and flora, your guide will point out the plants and areas of interest along your walk and their use and significance in medicine, bushtucker and Indigenous culture.
After a fascinating and informative guided tour of the area, you will reach a designated space for your Yidaki (didgeridoo) and meditation session. Described as ‘profoundly moving’ and ‘deeply relaxing’ by some of our previous guests, the session usually lasts approximately half hour followed by some time to explore the area or discuss your meditation experience with your tour guides.

Yidaki Meditation and Healing

Lionel Lauch is a skilled and practiced healer, versed in the ancient aboriginal custom of healing. During Lionel’s sessions you are immersed in the rhythmic primal sounds of the Yidaki as it moves through your muscles and organs, grounding you in the land and moment as the frequencies and vibrations flow through your body, connecting you to the earth and creating a space for powerful healing to take place.

Schools and Education

Learning is knowledge and knowledge is empowerment.

Living Culture specialises in tailored to suit educational visits, cultural talks and workshops for schools, organisations and bespoke groups, sharing insight and understanding for generations to come.

Through these workshops and visits, Lionel works alongside the educational community to bring awareness and engagement to the classroom, pupils and educators when dealing with Indigenous culture interpretations. His easy-going nature and great connection with children and young people engages pupils, encouraging them to delve into the teachings of this ancient culture and consider the cultural environment of the present day.

Lionel also brings awareness and understanding for adults, and teachers and educators in general are invited to engage in professional development on indigenous culture interpretations.

Welcome to Country Smoking Ceremonies

Each area has ceremonies significant to the Country you are on. Lionel’s smoking ceremonies use three plants that are used in ritual on Bunurong/Boonwurrung County. Properties of these plants protect guests both physically and spiritually. A smoking can be used in welcome, celebration, birth, deaths, to cleanse bad energy and spirits.

A Welcome to Country (WTC) can only be done by someone who is a Traditional Owner (T.O) Country (unless special permission is granted by the T.O’s) eg Bunurong/Boonwurung

A Welcome is an obligation to protect your guests both physically and spiritually. An Acknowledgement is an obligation to protect the people’s land and water you are on.
