Peninsula Writers’ Club

We are a community of emerging, and published writers who encourage each other to remain focussed, feel supported and challenged, and above all inspired to keep writing.

Peninsula Writers’ Club was formed in 2015 when, during a chance meeting between copywriter and children’s author Andrea Rowe and food writer (with half a novel in her top drawer) Nikki Fisher shared how they were tired of commuting from the Southern Peninsula to Melbourne for writing workshops and speaking events.

The two accidental Founders fast-tracked the “If we build it, they will come” model, and declared the first Peninsula Writers’ Club open over a dinner party style affair in local restaurant Bistro Elba.

We now gather regularly at Seawinds Community Hub for writing sessions, and workshops, and local cafes and venues for guest author talks.

How can I get involved?

Peninsula Writers’ Club is made of emerging and established writers of all abilities and ages on the Mornington Peninsula and surrounds. We are a passionate group of writers who gather regularly to write and workshop in company, offering fellowship, feedback and focus. New members are always welcome.

Our regular meet-ups are once a month on a Friday from February – December for WriteIns at Seawinds Community Hub. These are a chance to write alongside each other in a group environment and enjoy writing in fellowship.

Our workshops are held in response to member feedback and interest. We actively apply for and investigate grants for writing workshops and forums

Our AuthorsUp dinners have been postponed for 2021 until further notice but are usually a wine and dine event with guest author speakers.

You are welcome to mosey on up to any of our events.

Why Join?

Our inclusive community is a tight-knit, supportive group of people who want to build their own writing skills, develop connections, and feel some sense of accountability while writing in company when the going gets tough. You work through enough doubt and uncertainty when you’re a writer, but hanging out with others locally when you need support and answers sure makes that road easier.

How much does it cost?

We offer paid membership packages.
This is currently an annual fee of $45 or $38 for concession card holders.

For 2021 our one off registration has been waived as we all recover from recent COVD-19 financial impacts. You save $20!

Join us today, turn up to an event, nibble a few pen nibs and clack away at the keyboard in our company.

Non members are welcome at some workshops, but individual event fees will apply. Paid member’s get access to all WriteIn’s monthly, plus other perks.
